Argentina
The Malambo dance is traditionally danced by the Gauchos, the lonesome cowboys that guarded their herds of cattle through the infinite Argentine country side. Historically, the dance is exclusively performed by men that compete with one another in a spectacular battle of seemingly impossible steps. The dance has very few rules, is exotic, rebellious, complicated and very spectacular.
GOGO MALAMBO is a journey through the cultural heritage of Argentina and South-America, but is far from traditional. Director Omar Pacheco, has lived and worked all over the world and knows like no other how balance between history and present.
GOGO MALAMBO is not performed just by men and is not just about malambo it is daring, competitive and sensual. A group of virtuoso dancers and musicians, men and women bring a dazzling show with dances like malambo, zamba, la chacarera and el gato in a modern stage setting with colorful costumes and spectacular lighting.
GOGO MALAMBO is strictly Latin at heart, has the music we all love so much and, most importantly, is truly sensational to watch.
